Education

• 1986-1990: Under-graduate studies in the Physics department of the University of Crete, Greece
• 1990-1995: Graduate studies in the Physics department of the University of Patras, Greece. Ph.D. obtained in 1995

Work experience

• 1997-2001: Work as Visitor Professor in the Chemistry department of the University of Crete.
• 2001-today: Work as Assistant Professor in the Chemistry department of the University of Crete.

Research interests

• Ab-initio investigation of structural and electronic properties, of organic and inorganic molecules.
• Large scale calculations of polymeric and biologically important systems with the use of ab-initio and semiempirical methods.
• Study of chemical reactions.
• Theoretical study of the electronic spectra of small molecules.
• Theoretical investigation of carbon Nanotubes. Study of the catalytic procedure and of hydrogen adsorption.
• Theoretical investigation of amorphous materials, surfaces and interfaces combining computational physic and quantum chemistry methods.
